Case Management At
The ICHH case management team work to advocate on behalf of people that are homeless helping them navigate through the quagmire of homelessness. One of the biggest issues people have when they become homeless is the lack of education and guidance on what they’re entitled to. Our case management team offer a one stop shop to support people through homelessness including advocating on their behalf to secure accommodation, providing practical supports like clothes and food. They also offer a non-judgemental compassionate ear to people when they need it most and will refer clients to our partners in Babs Empowerment Services for mental health supports which is essential for anyone that is homeless.
Due to the huge increase in families being made homeless from the private rental market over the last number of years we saw a huge increase in the number of children attending our office so we created a family room so children would have a relaxing room to play in or do their homework while our case management team assisted their parents. The family room has been a very welcomed addition to our service and is a safe haven for families with children.
