The discovery was made this afternoon by Gardai.
Gardai are investigating the discovery of the body of a man in his late teens in the city.
He was found in a car in Parnell Street at 2 o’clock this afternoon.
A postmortem is due to take place later, however foul play is not suspected.
Cllr Anthony Flynn from Inner City Helping Homeless says, the man was known to outreach services.
“This individual would have been engaged by outreach support teams on a number of occasions.” Cllr Flynn said.
“He was sleeping in a car that is frequented by a number of homeless people in that location – He is known us as an organisation and I’m sure others as well.
“The young man is only 19 years of age, it’s a tragic situation that anyone would be forced to sleep in a car or sleeping bag.”
